The day started out with the Danish youths setting up a workshop for digital storytelling. The workshop took all morning and everyone’s effort paid off in the end. The workshop started out introducing digital storytelling with different examples.
The participants were then told to write their own experience as a story and write it down. Stories were written and evaluated, and one story from each of the four groups formed were chosen to be recorded on video. Some used creativity to mix stories from the members of the groups, so that everyone’s beautiful words would be heard. Some stories were read aloud by the participants and thoughts were exchanged.
In the afternoon, the road was headed to Parma! In Parma the group was free to do as they wished. The weather was breezy and the youths were excited to be out and free of the tight packed schedule of the exchange program. Some went to the museum, some sat down at cafes under the sunshine, and some went for a shopping trip. For dinner, traditional Italian food was served, at the “Blue Moon – La Luna Blu” restaurant.
There were different types of pizzas, pastas, tortellini, lasagna and of course delicious Grana Padano made in Parma, decorating the long table. Late at night there was UNO and Shisha and socializing as usual. Stay tuned to see the final version of the digital storytelling videos!
